Getting started with Clearfast- Medical Professionals
The more acidic your stomach is at the time of surgery, the more potential there is for harm. The old way of fasting (starving) caused a build up of gastric (stomach) acids with an average pH approximately 2.0.
The pH of ClearFast is 4.2. Taking ClearFast as directed raises the pH in the stomach (less acidic) making you safer at the time of surgery!
The normal osmolarity of the tissue, cells, and fluids of the human body is 280-300 mOsm. The osmolarity of ClearFast is 270 allowing for timely gastric emptying.
ClearFast clears from the stomach in 90 minutes – we recommend finishing your last bottle of ClearFast 120 minutes before anesthesia to be on the safe side!
Clear & Colorless
ClearFast is truly clear and colorless unlike sports drinks and low quality preop alternatives.
Colored dyes can mimic the appearance of internal bleeding and cause confusion for your surgeon and potential problems with your procedure.
